Please read this information carefully, and the information pack which has been updated !
Considering recent developments relating to the new coronavirus variant, we are taking proactive steps to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of all players, spectators, staff, and volunteers ahead of this week’s AJ Bell British Junior Championships.
Given that over 600 people are expected to attend this 4-day competition at Edgbaston Priory Club and University of Birmingham, and with COVID-19 transmission mainly happening indoors where people are in close proximity, we are kindly asking anyone attending to adhere to the following safety measures to keep yourself and others safe.
Lateral flow tests, face coverings and hygiene
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, we ask that all players and spectators :
- take a COVID lateral flow test on day 1 and day 3 of the event. If you test positive, then you must not attend any venues and we recommend that you take a PCR test at a local test centre. Please note you will be asked for evidence of this on check in at the tournament desk.
- wear a face covering in all communal areas at all times.
- wash hands regularly for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitiser whilst you are at the venue.
- If you return a positive test result during the tournament after contact with other competitors/spectators/staff/volunteers, please contact the tournament organiser Mike Edwards immediately
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms following the tournament, you should self-isolate immediately, take a PCR test and follow UK Government guidance.
If you have any questions relating to the tournament, please contact the tournament organiser Mike Edwards.
Please also take time to read the information pack as this has been updated with some additional information!
We wish you an enjoyable and safe tournament,
Mike Edwards, BJC Event Director mike.edwards@edgbastonpriory.com / 07734 559864
